Resumen de Las referencias bibliográficas en la producción científica como indicador del uso de los acervos de libros y revistas: un estudio de caso

  Se estudian las posibilidades que ofrece el análisis de las referencias bibliográficas de la producción científica de una comunidad académica como indicador del uso de las colecciones de su biblioteca; y cómo a partir de dicho análisis se puede conocer el impacto de los cambios sociales en dicho uso. Para ello, en primer lugar, se analizaron las referencias empleadas en los artículos publicados por académicos del Instituto de Investigaciones en Matemáticas Aplicadas y en Sistemas (IIMAS) entre 2018 y 2021 respecto a los recursos con que cuenta el Sistema Bibliotecario de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (SIBIUNAM). En segundo lugar, se hizo un análisis de su estructura temática, a través del uso de una red semántica a partir de las categorías temáticas en que fueron clasificadas dichas referencias en la base de datos Web of Science (WoS). En relación con la colección del IIMAS, se constata un uso superior al 50 % y, respecto a la colección de la UNAM, mayor al 61 % por suscripción. Se observó un incremento significativo en el número de referencias empleadas en 2020 y 2021; asimismo, se observó un crecimiento de la diversidad temática multidisciplinaria.

  The possibilities offered by the analysis of the bibliographical references of the scientific production of an academic community are studied as an indicator of the use of its library collections; and thereafter, of the impact of social changes on the information behavior of their users. For that and firstly, the references used in the articles published by academics of the Institute of Research in Applied Mathematics and Systems (IIMAS) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico between 2018 and 2021 were analyzed with respect to the resources available in the Library System of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (SIBIUNAM). On the other hand, a structure analysis was made, creating a semantic network from the thematic categories by which the references were classified in the Web of Science (WoS) database. In relation to the IIMAS collection, a use greater than 50% was verified and, regarding the UNAM collection, greater than 61% per subscription. A significant increase was observed in the number of references used in 2020 and 2021; and also, in their multidisciplinary, thematic diversity.
