    Mediante la vacunación el sistema inmune adquiere defensas suficientes para frenar una enfermedad infectocontagiosa siempre y cuando el esquema se cumpla de manera completa y adecuada. Lasvacunaspuedenprevenirmásde2,5millonesdedecesosanivelglobal,siendo laprincipalestrategia de salud para salvar vidas. En América, ha logrado controlar y erradicar enfermedadesinfectocontagiosas como la polio, la viruela y el sarampión; mismos que además han ido evolucionando a través de los años de acuerdo a necesidades de la población.Las vacunas contra Covid 19 de las cuales está a cargo del primer nivel de atención y que tienen como objetivo cubrir con un mayor porcentaje de cobertura, reduciendo la propagación del virus, la sintomatología de grave a leve, que evita la saturación del segundo y tercer nivel de atención en salud, y además que disminuye la mortalidad.Al ser esta una revisión con enfoque cualitativo se analizaron artículos y documentos con gran realce investigativo como lo demuestra la OMSy el MSP del Ecuador.

    Through vaccination, the immune system acquires sufficient defenses to stop an infectious disease as long as the scheme is fully and adequately complied with. Vaccines can prevent more than 2.5 million deaths worldwide, being the main health strategy to save lives. In America, it has managed to control and eradicate infectious diseases such as polio, smallpox and measles, which have evolved over the years according to the needs of the population.The vaccines against Covid 19, which are in charge of the first level of care, aim to cover with a higher percentage of coverage, reducing the spread of the virus, the symptoms from severe to mild, avoiding the saturation of the second and third level of health care, and also reducing mortality.As this is a review with a qualitative approach, articles and documents with great investigative value were analyzed, as shown by the WHO and the Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador.
