Resumen de Coyunturas: ¿De qué estamos hablando los arquitectos en Francia?

La temática del presente número, “Las incógnitas”, no podía casar mejor con la actualidad de la escena arquitectónica gala, cargada de movilizaciones orientadas precisamente a identificar los desafíos del futuro y las estrategias a implementar para superarlos.
Esta agitación toca todos sus frentes, empezando por el más básico, el de la formación, que se ha visto gravemente afectado por las últimas reformas de las estructuras académicas. Las Escuelas de Arquitectura son un lugar estratégico desde donde orquestar una serie de debates relacionados con la urgencia medioambiental imperante, con el reconocimiento de la investigación académica y con la mejora de las condiciones de vida, no sólo en las grandes ciudades, sino también, en los núcleos periurbanos de un país fuertemente centralizado.
La veintena de escuelas públicas existentes han tomado conciencia de la necesidad de renovar las materias impartidas, las modalidades pedagógicas, los medios de producción y el rol del arquitecto para dar respuesta a estas incógnitas.

The theme of this issue, "The unknowns", could not be better suited to the current state of the French architectural scene, which is full of mobilisations aimed precisely at identifying the challenges of the future and the strategies to be implemented to overcome them.
This agitation touches on all fronts, starting with the most basic, that of training, which has been seriously affected by the latest reforms of academic structures. The Schools of Architecture are a strategic place from which to orchestrate a series of debates related to the prevailing environmental urgency, to the recognition of academic research and to the improvement of living conditions, not only in the big cities, but also in the peri-urban nuclei of a highly centralised country.
The twenty or so existing public schools have become aware of the need to renew the subjects taught, the teaching methods, the means of production and the role of the architect in order to respond to these questions.
