The present work deals with microfacies studies of some samples collected from Aqra Formation (Maastrichtian) in Northern Iraq. The investigation reveals that these deposits are mainly composed of reefal to fore-reefal limestones, siliceous, dolomitized, and impregnated with bitumen at the top. The deposition of these reefal sediments has been interrupted by two littoral environments.
