The Tertiary deposits of Pakistan are characterized by a variety of sedimentary facies. The Paleogene sediments are predominantly marine, but Neogene deposits are partly marine and partly non marine in origin. The marine sedimentary deposits of Tertiary age represent twenty two planktonic foraminiferal zones, characterized by species restricted to their respective zones. These zones are correlated to the Caribbean region and with the European Stages.
