    San Pablo y los Padres de la Iglesia releyeron cristológicamente el relato del Génesis en el que el hombre había sido creado a imagen de Dios. Cristo es la verdadera imagen divina a partir de la cual el hombre ha sido creado. Esta idea no solo remite al origen del hombre, sino también a su destino: porque el ser humano ha sido creado a imagen de Cristo la salvación se le hace accesible también en Cristo. El artículo presenta las dos perspectivas patrísticas más relevantes en este tema: la alejandrina, que creía que solo el alma era imagen divina, y la asiática, que consideraba a todo el ser humano —también su cuerpo— como imagen de Dios. La presentación termina con algunas reflexiones antropológicas sobre la relación entre la imagen divina y la vocación humana.

    St. Paul and the Fathers re-read Christologically the Genesis account in which man was created as image of God. Christ is the true divine image from which human being was created. This idea refers not only to human origin, but also to their destiny: because human being was created in the image of Christ, salvation becomes accessible to him also in Christ. The article presents the two most relevant patristic perspectives on this subject: the Alexandrian, which believed that only the soul was divine image, and the Asiatic, which considered the whole human being —including his body— as the image of God. The presentation ends with some anthropological reflections on the relationship between the divine image and the human vocation.
