La desperonización en Río Cuarto 1955-1956: ¿acciones dictatoriales o civilidad “democrática”?

    El propósito del presente estudio es la reconstrucción histórica en Río Cuarto de algunos aspectos político-institucionales y socio-culturales en la coyuntura 1955-1956, inmediata a la Revolución “Libertadora”. El gobierno provisional de facto con la consabida pátina civil se instala en la Municipalidad el día 27 de septiembre del ´55, a partir de allí, se iniciará un proceso de reacomodamiento gradual de las expresiones político-partidarias antiperonistas que habían convergido decididamente en la revolución golpista con la conducción militar y clerical. También se despliega un gradual pero efectivo proceso de desperonización de la ciudadanía con importantes medidas del gobierno municipal en manos civiles y de nombres prominentes de la UCR que afectará a dirigentes, militantes y civiles comunes. En este contexto se intentará explicitar la transición al gobierno de Aramburu y el clima político de Río Cuarto durante el año ´56 sobre la base del enfoque periodístico de los diarios El Pueblo y La Calle y la apoyatura bibliográfica producida en los últimos años. En este sentido, creemos contribuir a echar luz sobre un periodo y temática poco revelados en la historia local y regional.

    The study aims to present a historical reconstruction of political, institutional as well as socio-political aspects of 1955-1956 Rio Cuarto, following the “Liberating” Revolution. The de facto interim government, supported by the most visible segments of society, installs itself in the Municipality on the 27th of September of 1955; it then initiated a process of gradual rearrangement of anti-peronist political parties, which had converged firmly with the military and clerical leadership in the coup. Another gradual yet effective process of de-peronization of society was started by the local government, now civically controlled by renowned members of the UCR, through important measures taken which will affect political leaders and activists as well as civilians. In this context, this study will attempt to clarify the transition to the Aramburu administration and the political climate in Rio Cuarto during 1956, based on the journalistic approach of the El Pueblo and La Calle newspapers and the bibliographic material produced in recent years. In this regard, we hope to make a contribution to the understanding of a historical period and topic which are scarcely covered in local and regional historical analysis.
