    En el siglo XVI, el papado puso en marcha su propia estructura inquisitorial. Para ello tomó como modelo, en muchos aspectos, al Santo Oficio de la Inquisición española, si bien la institución romana se apartó del modelo hispánico en muchas cuestiones, tanto en lo que se refiere a su arquitectura institucional como a su forma de procesar. La comparación entre ambos modelos se analiza con detalle en el texto.

    In the 16th century, the papacy launched its own inquisitorial structure. For this, it took as a model, in many aspects, the Holy Office of the Spanish Inquisition, although the Roman institution departed from the Hispanic model in many matters, both in terms of its institutional architecture and its way of processing. The comparison between the two models is discussed in detail in the text.
