    Las escenas representadas en las hidrias áticas fountain house de época arcaica arrojan nuevas luces sobre el rol mujeres en la polis. Junto a ello, su análisis permite contrastar su época de esplendor o interpretar la iconografía de estas producciones en clave de agencia femenina. Se logrará mostrar así las luces y sombras de la cuestión y el silencio que rodea en gran variedad de temas a las fuentes clásicas. Supone un perfecto ejemplo de que la combinación de fuentes escritas con aquellas proporcionadas por el registro arqueológico enriquece mucho más el conocimiento sobre el pasado de cualquier sociedad.

    The scenes depicted in the Attic fountain house hydrias of the archaic era shed new light on the role of women in the polis. Along with this, its analysis allows contrasting its time of splendor or interpreting the iconography of these productions in terms of female agency. In this way, it will be possible to show the lights and shadows of the question and the silence that surrounds the classical sources in a great variety of subjects. It is a perfect example that the combination of written sources with those provided by the archaeological record enriches much more the knowledge about the past of any society.
