A doutora Antonia Ferrín Moreiras foi unha excelente estudante, traballadora infatigable, e docente versátil, con máis de 50 anos dedicados á ensinanza e á investigación. Foi a primeira muller científica en defender unha tese en astronomía en España e a primeira na Facultade de Matemáticas de Santiago de Compostela (1963). Tamén foi a primeira muller en formar parte do cadro de profesores da devandita Facultade. Alumna, compañeira, colaboradora e amiga do científico D. Ramón María Aller Ulloa. Sufriu discriminación e represión por formar parte dunha familia republicana e, o feito de ser muller, impediulle chegar a ser directora do observatorio da Universidade de Santiago. Hoxe en día ten unha sala co seu nome na Facultade de Matemáticas; unha rúa en Lalín leva o seu nome; a Universidade de Vigo creou os premios de igualdade na súa honra, e no ano 2017 foi incluída nas Táboas Periódicas das Ciencias

Dr. Antonia Ferrín Moreiras was an excellent student and tireless worker, versatile teacher with more than 50 years dedicated to teaching and research. e first woman scientist to defend a thesis in astronomy in Spain, the first in the Faculty of Mathematics of Santiago de Compostela (1963). Also the first woman to be part of the teaching staff of said Faculty. Student, colleague, collaborator and friend of the scientist D. Ramón María Aller Ulloa. She suffered discrimination and repression for being part of a republican family and the fact of being a woman prevented her from becoming director of the observatory of the University of Santiago. Nowadays it has a room with his name in the Faculty of Mathematics; a street in Lalín is named after him; the University of Vigo created the equality awards with its name and in 2017 it was included in the Periodic Tables of Sciences.
