    El objetivo de este artículo es realizar un relato retrospectivo de la gestión museística y turística en la catedral de Toledo. Para ello, se han consultado los estatutos del cabildo de 1926, y se han buscado las noticias referentes al turismo entre 1900 y 1936 en los libros de actas capitulares. Gracias a ello se puede comprender la profesionalización turística del cabildo tras la apertura en 1900 del Museo Catedralicio. Para ello, es fundamental descubrir cómo se gestionaron los itinerarios, los precios, la difusión cultural o las exposiciones. La puesta en marcha de este proceso supuso toda una serie de problemas que dotaron al cabildo de una experiencia y un aprendizaje cuyos beneficios afectaron positivamente al templo y su patrimonio catedralicio, alejándose así de las estrecheces económicas heredadas de la Desamortización y la supresión del diezmo.

    This paper aims to create a retrospective report on Toledo’s cathedral museistic and touristic management. In order to achieve that, reading the primatial chapter’s bylaws was key, as well as consulting the chapter meeting records for references of tourism between 1900 and 1936. Thanks to that it becomes possible to understand the touristic professionalization of the chapter after the opening of the Cathedral’s Museum. This paper tries to shed light on how the chapter managed itineraries, prices, cultural dissemination or exhibitions. Setting off this process entailed plenty of problems that allowed the chapter to accomplish certain experience and learnings whose benefits affected positively the temple and its cultural heritage, hence distancing from the economic crisis inherited from the ecclesiastical confiscations and the tithe’s suppression.
