The Kerri-Kerri formation is a very extensive lithologic unit of doubtful age, outcropping over an area of 30,000 Km in Bauchi and Borno States of Nigeria. It has a thickness of about 300 m and is composed dominantly of poorly sorted grits and sandstones with interbedded claystones and siltstones.
On the basis of a well preserved assemblage of pollen and spores, it is here assigned a Paleocene age. Eight new pollen species are described.
