  • Fissoarchaeoglobigerina n. gen. is a small globigerinacean foraminifer of typical planktonic habit characterized by the presence of supplementary sutural openings. Scanning electron microscope is extensively used in the present study to reveal the microstructures of the test wall.

    Fissoarchaeoglobigerina aegyptiaca (Abdel-Kireem and Abdou) is a typical Maastrichtian taxon.
