    This unpublished document aims to provide some information relating to the emancipation of slaves in Tunisia (1846). Even if this document was written in 1890, after the submission of Tunisia to the French Protectorate, it means that the question of the slave trade still continues to preoccupy political actors at that time. The content of this document sheds light on a few points relating to this subject of research, the most important of which is to highlight the relationship between this emancipatory initiative for slaves in Tunisia, with the effects of competition at the international level. On the monopoly of power and the sources of wealth and influence, whether at the level of the Mediterranean where England did not hide its ambitions to extend its influence there, or at the level of the conflicts of interest between the different power of the time regarding the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean, especially with the beginning of the emergence of American power
