Resumen de Representaciones de la migración durante la crisis sociosanitaria: Análisis lexicométrico de medios digitales chilenos

  El presente manuscrito analiza las representaciones de la migración en medios de noticias digitales, durante los primeros seis meses de la pandemia del COVID-19 en Chile. En total, se analizaron 311 noticias provenientes de tres portales digitales, con diferentes líneas editoriales y que se encontraban entre los más consultados en Chile: El Mostrador, Cooperativa y EMOL. Se realizó un estudio mixto (cuantitativo y cualitativo), mediante un análisis lexicométrico, el cual permite analizar grandes corpus de datos. Los resultados indican la existencia de seis clases (clusters) de vocabulario, las cuales reflejan distintas formas en que el fenómeno migratorio fue representado durante la pandemia del COVID-19. Los resultados principales son discutidos en términos de los contenidos en las distintas clases de vocabulario, y en diálogo con otros estudios nacionales e internacionales.

  This manuscript analyzes the representations of migration in digital news media, during the first six months of the COVID-19 pandemic in Chile. In total, 311 news from three digital news portals were analyzed, which differed in their editorial lines and were among the most consulted in Chile: El Mostrador, Cooperativa and EMOL. A mixed study (quantitative and qualitative) was carried out, through a lexicometric analysis, which allows analyzing large corpus of data. The results indicate the existence of six vocabulary classes (clusters), which reflect different ways in which the migratory phenomenon was represented during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our main results are discussed in terms of the contents in the different vocabulary classes, and in dialogue with other national and international studies. Beyond the situation of the pandemic, the exposed results open an invitation to advance in the understanding of migration representation in crisis contexts.
