Desde hace algunas décadas el turismo ha constituido uno de los sectores más importantes de la economía española, tal y como sucede en otros contextos geográficos. Tanto es así que, con la crisis, el sector turístico ha sido el que más estabilidad y crecimiento ha presentado, ejerciendo un papel dinamizador clave de la economía. No obstante, la crisis debe habernos enseñado que se requieren nuevas formas de dirigir las organizaciones turísticas, con menor egocentrismo y más orientación al cliente y al mercado, asuntos estos sobre los que ya se había comenzado a insistir sin que se produjeran las respuestas adecuadas. El presente trabajo constituye una reflexión acerca de la relevancia del sector turístico y sobre la necesidad de formar a nuevos líderes en las universidades, especialmente mediante el título de Grado en Turismo y en el contexto del Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior.

For some decades the tourism has constituted one of the most important sectors of the Spanish economy, as it happens in other geographical contexts. So much it is so, with the crisis, the tourist sector has been the one that more stability and growth has presented, exercising a revitalizing key paper of the economy. Nevertheless, with the crisis we must think that new ways of directing the tourist firms are needed, with minor egocentrism and more orientation to the client and to the market. The present article constitutes a reflection about the relevancy of the tourist sector and on the need to form new leaders in the universities, specially by the title of Degree in Tourism and in the context of the European Space of Higher Education
