A.A. Kureshy

  • The Mio-Pliocene boundary in Pakistan is characterized by both marine and non marine deposits. The marine deposits are exposed in Baluchistan basin, and non marine deposits are widely exposed in Lower and Upper Indus basins. The marine Mio-Pliocene boundary is characterized by planktonic foraminifera and non marine deposits by mammalian fossils. The paleontological criteria of both marine and non marine deposits of Mio-Plioceno boundary is discussed.
