Frequência de distorção e insatisfação com a imagem corporal em pessoas que fizeram cirurgia bariátrica no brasil

    Body image is a multifaceted construct who exerts a strong influence on the person undergoing bariatric surgery. There are few studies in the literature that establish which aspect of body image is the objective of the analysis, that is, if is the perceptive or attitudinal dimension having had investigated, and who present more than one instrument to validate the collected data. Thus, this study aimed to identify the frequency of body image distortion and the frequency of body image dissatisfaction, in underwent bariatric surgery Brazilian people. This was an analytical, quantitative cross-sectional study, with a sample obtained by convenience and an online questionnaire available on Google Forms®. This population study was mostly female, with a higher frequency in the age range among 40 and 59 years and undergoing surgery time greater than 25 months. In Body Shape Questionnaire, the highest percentages of distortion with body image were found in periods of 25 months or more (44%) and 0 to 6 months (40.4%). In the Body Shape Questionnaire, higher percentages of body image dissatisfaction were observed on 25 or more months (44.0%) and 0 to 6 months (40.4%) time after bariatric surgery. In the silhouette scale, from 0 to 6 months, the highest degree of dissatisfaction appeared (93.3%) and between 13 and 24 months, the maximum satisfaction with body image (21.7%). We concluded that there was variation in the frequency of satisfaction with body image in the postoperative period of bariatric surgery.

    A imagem corporal é um constructo multifacetado que exerce forte influência sobre a pessoa que fez cirurgia bariátrica. São escassos na literatura estudos que estabeleçam qual aspecto da imagem corporal é o objetivo da análise, ou seja, se investiga a dimensão perceptiva ou atitudinal e que apresentem mais de um instrumento para avaliar os resultados apresentados. Assim, este trabalho objetivou identificar a frequência da distorção da imagem corporal e a frequência da insatisfação com a imagem corporal em pessoas que fizeram cirurgia bariátrica no Brasil. Tratou-se de um estudo transversal, analítico, quantitativo, com amostra obtida por conveniência, com questionário on-line, disponibilizado no Google Forms®. A população do estudo foi em sua maioria do sexo feminino (93,47%), com maior frequência no intervalo de idade entre 40 e 59 anos (57,29%) e tempo de cirurgia maior que 25 meses (42,2%). No Body Shape Questionnaire observou-se maiores percentuais de distorção com a imagem corporal entre aqueles com maior tempo de realização da cirurgia bariátrica, 25 ou mais meses (44,0%) e naqueles com menor tempo pós realização da cirurgia, 0 a 6 meses (40,4%). Na escala de silhuetas, de 0 a 6 meses apareceu o maior grau de insatisfação (93,3%) e entre 13 e 24 meses o máximo de satisfação com a imagem corporal (21,7%). Observou-se, portanto, uma variação na frequência com a satisfação com a imagem corporal pelo tempo de pós-operatório.
