    O presente texto se propõe reconstruir algumas das linhas principais do problema da articulação entre percepção e linguagem em Merleau-Ponty. Para tanto, parte-se da questão da origem da linguagem, na Fenomenologia da percepção, e se acompanha seus desdobramentos e reformulações ao longo do período intermediário (década de 1950), quando Merleau-Ponty se aproxima da linguística de Saussure, e do período final (década de 1960), quando Merleau-Ponty desenvolve seu conceito de Ser bruto. Paulatinamente, a percepção passa a apresentar a mesma estrutura diacrítica da linguagem, um solo originário mudo, mas expressivo. E a linguagem aparece cada vez mais como a elevação desse solo à expressividade propriamente linguística.

    The present text proposes to reconstruct some of the main lines of the articulation problem between perception and language in Merleau-Ponty. To this end, it starts from the question of the origin of language, in the Phenomenology of perception, and it follows its unfolding and reformulations throughout the intermediate period (1950s), when Merleau-Ponty approaches Saussure's linguistics, and the final period (1960s), when Merleau-Ponty develops his concept of brute Being. Gradually, perception begins to present the same diacritical structure as language, a mute but expressive originating soil. And language increasingly appears as the elevation of this soil to properly linguistic expressiveness.
