    Como norito se denominan las antiguas oraciones de la religión Shinto, recitadas y cantadas en honor a una divinidad del innumerable panteón japonés. Aún hoy son oficiales en las grandes festividades, incluso proclamadas en nombre del Emperador. El detallado rito que las envuelve tiene por objeto reclamar el cuidado de la divinidad invocada, así como conmover el corazón de los presentes. Al amparo de estas plegarias la co-munidad, como hija de la gran deidad, se sentirá bendecida y beneficiada. Como el poder de las divinidades se halla en los elementos de la Natura-leza, el norito vincula la conciencia humana al entorno natural venerado como sagrado

    As norito are called the ancient prayers of the Shinto religion, recited and sung in honor of a divinity of the innumerable Japanese pan-theon. Even today they are official in the great festivities, even proclaimed in the name of the Emperor. The detailed rite that surrounds them is in-tended to claim the care of the invoked divinity, as well as move the hearts of those present. Under these prayers, the community, as the daughter of the great deity, will feel blessed and benefited. As the power of the divini-ties is found in the elements of Nature, the norito links human conscious-ness to the natural environment revered as sacred.
