Para una teoría analítica y sapiencial de la verdad

    Según MacIntyre Fides et ratio solo es compatible con la teoría tomista de la verdad y no con la filosofía analítico-lingüística, que tampoco puede comprender la verdad como un bien. Contra ambas tesis, presentamos una teoría realista no «deflacionista» que clarifica los usos lingüísticos de «verdad/ero», admite expresamente el valor de la verdad y analiza de forma novedosa el sentido de la forma sustantiva «la verdad». Ello refuerza las concepciones del hombre como buscador de la verdad y de esta como bien del entendimiento. Finalmente la «verdad del hombre» se relaciona con el amor, siguiendo a Lumen fidei.

    According to MacIntyre Fides et ratio is only compatible with the Thomistic theory of truth and not with analytic philosophy, which cannot understand truth as a good either. Against both theses, we present a «non-deflationist», realist theory that (i) clarifies the linguistic uses of «truth/ true», (ii) expressly admits the value of truth, and (iii) analyzes in a new way the meaning of the substantive form «the truth». This reinforces the conceptions of man as a seeker of truth and truth as a good of human understanding. Finally, the «truth of man» is related to love, following - Lumen fidei.
