Resumen de Memoria familiar compartida y violencia en retaguardia

  En este artículo se analizan los recuerdos publicados de Pío Baroja, de su hermana Carmen y de sus sobrinos Julio y Pío Caro acerca de los sucesos relacionados con el castigo a los izquierdistas y a los familiares de los carabineros posicionados a favor del gobierno republicano que acaecieron en Bera, localidad en la que residían durante el verano, entre el 19 de julio y mediados de agosto de 1936. Se comparan las narraciones de esos cuatro miembros de la familia Baroja con testimonios procedentes de diversas fuentes acerca de los mismos hechos, y de otros que aquellos no mencionan, con el fin de ponderar su correspondencia con la realidad.

  This article analyses Pio Baroja’s, his sister Carmen’s and his nephews Julio and Pio Caro’s published memories, all about the occurrences related to the penalties imposed to the left-winders and to the families of all the «carabinero’s» who took a stance in favour of the republican administration in Bera, localty in which all the authors resided during the summer (from july the 19th to mid-august of 1936). Futhermore, the article compares all afour narrations, using testimonies from a wide range of sources about the aforementioned incidents, and others that the writters don’t even mention, with the immediate purpose of weighing in their connections to reality.

  Artikulu honetan, Pío Barojak, haren arreba Carmenek eta Julio eta Pío Caro ilobek argitaratutako oroitzapen batzuk aztertzen dira, zeinetan gogora ekartzen baitituzte Beran, udan bizi ziren herrian, 1936ko uztailaren 19tik abuztuaren erdialdera arte ger­taturikoak: ezkertiarrei eta gobernu errepublikarraren aldeko karabineroen senitarte­koei ezarritako zigorrak eta haiei loturiko gertakariak. Baroja familiako lau kide horien kontakizunak eta beste iturri batzuetan gertaera berei buruz eta barojatarrek aipatu gabeko beste batzuei buruz jasotako testigantzak alderatzen dira, errealitateari zenba­teraino lotzen zaizkion neurtzearren.
