    Cada fascículo que presentamos es especial en alguno o algunos sentidos. El número anterior correspondió con la conmemoración de nuestro primer lustro. Ahora tenemos varios motivos para sentir especial afecto por esta nueva entrega: la cantidad y diversidad de los articulistas, las significativas fotografías que complementan cada sección y la integración de los dos campos del conocimiento que constituyen nuestra Facultad: la educación y la salud.

    Basta ojear la tabla de contenido para darse cuenta de que los nueve artículos que componen este número fueron escritos por veintidós autores, profesionales distinguidos en diversas disciplinas, con roles igualmente variados. Son todos personas comprometidas con la transformación de sus profesiones, algunos dedicados a lo que denominamos “la academia”, desde la docencia y la investigación, otros consagrados casi totalmente a la atención directa de las poblaciones beneficiarias (pacientes y estudiantes).

    En cuanto a las fotografías, necio sería tratar de decir con palabras lo que las imágenes comunican con suficiente eficacia. Solo puede añadirse que la población en situación de discapacidad nos parece un tema sumamente pertinente; no solo por su actualidad sino por la necesidad de convergencias en las áreas de la salud y la educación para garantizar reconocimiento, valoración, empatía, cuidado, inclusión y protección de sus derechos.

    Por esto, la integración de artículos sobre salud y educación en la misma revista no debe verse como un asunto caprichoso o arbitrario. Mejor considerarla una oportunidad para detener la atomización del conocimiento y reconocer lo que la realidad se empeña en demostrarnos diariamente: el conocimiento está integrado.

    Aspiramos a que el público interesado en temas de la salud se dé la oportunidad adicional de leer los textos referidos a temáticas educativas, y viceversa. Estamos seguros de que pueden construirse aprendizajes muy significativos a partir de esta lectura adicional. Finalmente, agradecemos la valoración que los lectores hagan del trabajo y la producción intelectual de todos los autores.

    Each issue we present is special in one or more ways. The previous issue corresponded to the commemoration of our first five years. Now we have several reasons to feel special affection for this new installment: the number and diversity of the writers, the significant photographs that complement each section and the integration of the two fields of knowledge that constitute our Faculty: education and health.

    A glance at the table of contents is enough to realize that the nine articles that make up this issue were written by twenty-two authors, distinguished professionals in various disciplines, with equally varied roles. They are all people committed to the transformation of their professions, some dedicated to what we call "the academy", from teaching and research, others devoted almost entirely to the direct care of the beneficiary populations (patients and students).

    As for photographs, it would be foolish to try to put into words what the images communicate effectively enough. It can only be added that the population in a situation of disability seems to us to be a highly pertinent topic; not only because of its topicality but also because of the need for convergence in the areas of health and education to guarantee recognition, appreciation, empathy, care, inclusion and protection of their rights.

    For this reason, the integration of articles on health and education in the same journal should not be seen as a capricious or arbitrary matter. Better consider it an opportunity to stop the atomization of knowledge and recognize what reality is determined to show us on a daily basis: knowledge is integrated.

    We hope that the public interested in health issues is given the additional opportunity to read the texts referring to educational topics, and vice versa. We are sure that very significant learning can be built from this additional reading. Finally, we appreciate the appreciation that readers make of the work and intellectual production of all authors.
