Papúa Nueva Guinea
Living foraminiferal assemblages composed of Ammonia beccarii and Arenoparrella mexicana occur on submerged mud-banks in the Purari Delta at water depth 1.5-1.8 m, bottom salinity 1 ‰. bottom pH 5.5-5.7, and bottom temperature 24-25 ºC. Empty shells of four other species, including Haplophragmoides Trochamming inflata, also occur. These assemblages are similar to those of brackish marshes along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of North America, and in Trinidad, Brazil, and Fiji.
