  • 43 calcareous nannoplankton species from Upper Cretaceous-Lower Tertiary rocks cropping out at Um Rijam, South Jordan, are identified, classified and illustrated. As a result of their stratigraphic ranges, eight calcareous nannoplankton zones are established. These zones are compared with the equivalent planktonic foraminiferal zones alread recognized in the same area, and a high resolution biostratigraphic zonation is given.
