Resumen de El cuerpo de la mujer oriental como geografía imaginaria

El artículo desarrolla la concepción del cuerpo de la mujer oriental como geografía imaginaria a partir de la conceptualización de Edward Said que refiere a ella como el uso de técnicas de representación, maneras de otrificar a espacios y lugares a través del uso de imágenes, códigos y convenciones específicos que reflejan y habilitan relaciones de poder. Para ello, se presentan tres ejes relacionados con la percepción del cuerpo femenino; la apropiación y reapropiación del cuerpo de la mujer oriental, el cuerpolímite entre el espacio público y privado y el cuerpo como territorio de disputa. A partir de ellos, se analiza las tensiones entre el patriarcado local y el colonialismo, así como los debates en torno a la visibilidad del cuerpo de las mujeres.

Abstract: The article develops the conception of the body of the Oriental as an imagined geography from the conceptualization of Edward Said who refers to it as the use of representation techniques, ways of otrifying spaces and places through the use of images, codes and specific conventions that reflect and enable power relations. For this, three axes related to the perception of the female body are presented; the appropriation and reappropriation of the body of the Oriental woman, the body-limit between the public and private space and the body as a territory of dispute. From them, the tensions between the local patriarchy and colonialism are analyzed, as well as the debates around the visibility of the women's body.
