The construction of the users profile on mobile phones deals with pressing issues concerning data privacy and the delimitation of the public and private spheres. Therefore, a comparative analysis between ‘Privacy Terms and Conditions’ as well as the relation between operative systems Apple iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone, the relation of its hardware concerning the process of installation and configuration of some social media platforms and applications in the devices have been carried out. Selected social media platforms are Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Google + while applications are Instagram, WhatsApp, Line and Vine, considered mainly used ones. This study has been complemented with some primary conclusions obtained from exploratory focus group and survey in order to relate the characteristics and options technology offers with the feedback of its users. They show a concern about privacy issues taking care of some actions while admit not reading the terms and conditions involved, which are ambiguous.
