    En este fatídico mes de agosto hemos perdido dos grandes figuras en el tratamiento intervencionista del dolor: Menno Sluijter y Enrique Reig. Ambos han sido grandes personajes en el mundo de la ciencia, aunque Enrique para mí ha representado todos los valores que hoy en día tengo, no solo como un mero científico sino como persona, como amigo, como padre putativo. Creo que hablo por todos si digo que es una de las figuras más controvertidas en el mundo del tratamiento del dolor, pero que casi todos hemos aprendido algo de él.

    Hombre de fuertes convencimientos, fuerte carácter y una increíble personalidad, que logró que el tratamiento del dolor no fuera solo un “tryptizol 0-0-1”, sino que elevó el tratamiento del dolor a un escalón superior y nos abrió el camino a algo nuevo, con nuevas técnicas y nuevo manejo de la terapia, con una dedicación exclusiva al tratamiento de los pacientes y al alivio del dolor.

    ¡Gracias por tanto Enrique! Pero nunca te irás, siempre estarás a mi lado.

    In this fateful month of August we have lost two great figures in the interventional treatment of pain: Menno Sluijter and Enrique Reig. Both have been great figures in the world of science, although for me Enrique has represented all the values that I hold today, not only as a scientist but also as a person, as a friend, as a putative father. I think I speak for everyone if I say that he is one of the most controversial figures in the world of pain treatment, but that almost all of us have learned something from him.

    A man of strong convictions, strong character and an incredible personality, who managed to make pain treatment not just a "tryptizol 0-0-1", but who elevated pain treatment to a higher level and opened the way to something new, with new techniques and new management of therapy, with an exclusive dedication to the treatment of patients and the relief of pain.

    Thank you for so much Enrique! But you will never go away, you will always be by my side.
