La sociedad civil senegalesa y su implicación en el ámbito migratorio. El rol de las Organizaciones de la Sociedad Civil en acciones de sensibilización, formación y educación

    La sociedad civil ocupa un lugar muy relevante en la esfera social y política en Senegal, siendo las migraciones uno de sus ámbitos de acción. Desde el terreno asociativo, las llamadas Organizaciones de la Sociedad Civil (OSC), se implican en distintas acciones, entre las que podemos destacar la sensibilización sobre los riesgos de la migración irregular, por un lado, y la formación de los jóvenes de cara a su inserción sociolaboral en Senegal, por el otro. Todo ello con el fin último de que la migración no sea considerada una necesidad, sino una opción más y, de hacerse, se haga por vías seguras y regulares. A partir del trabajo de campo cualitativo realizado con OSC de Dakar (Senegal), en este artículo reflexionaremos en torno a las acciones implementadas por estas entidades en estos dos campos, incorporando su planteamiento crítico y respetuoso con los derechos de las personas migrantes.

    Civil society occupies a very relevant place in the social and political sphere in Senegal, with migration being one of its work areas. From the associative field, the so-called Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) are involved in different actions, among which we can highlight awareness-raising of the risks of irregular migration, on the one hand, and the training of young people facing their socio-occupational insertion in Senegal, on the other. All this with the goal that migration is not considered a necessity, but rather one more option and, if it is done, it is done through safe and regular channels. Based on the qualitative fieldwork carried out with CSOs in Dakar (Senegal), in this article we will reflect on the actions implemented by these entities in these two work areas, incorporating their critical and respectful to the rights of migrants approach.
