Aproximación estadística a los hábitos de lectura en el alumnado de Letras y Educación en la Universidad de La Rioja

    En el contexto de una encuesta propia sobre los hábitos lectores realizada en la Universidad de La Rioja entre 363 estudiantes de los grados en Educación Primaria, Educación Infantil, Geografía e Historia, Estudios Ingleses y Estudios Hispánicos durante 2022 en la Facultad de Letras y de la Educación, este estudio analiza específicamente los datos obtenidos por los estudiantes de Educación, Sociales y Humanidades, que presumiblemente están orientadas a la salida profesional docente. Tras detallar el método y el campo de estudio, se han examinado distintas variables y se han desagregado los resultados en función del sexo, la edad, y el área de conocimiento. Como resultados más relevantes, el 77 % de los universitarios leen un libro al mes; la segunda lengua lectora es principalmente el inglés (61%), frente al euskera (16%) y el francés (12%); en cuanto a los motivos de lectura un 52% declara leer por gusto, frente a un 28% que lo hace para aprender y un 20% que lo hace por obligación.

    This study specifically analyzes the data obtained in the context of a self-report survey on reading habits, carried out at the University of La Rioja (Spain) during 2022 among 363 students of the Degrees of Primary Education, Early Childhood Education, Geography and History, English Studies and Hispanic Studies in the Faculty of Arts and Education. The surveys followed the procedures described by the ethics committees of the institutions involved in this project. After a statistical-descriptive study of the data obtained in the surveys, different variables were examined, and the results were classified according to gender, age, and field of knowledge. The most relevant results were that 77% of the university students read a book a month; the second reading language is mainly English (61%), compared to Basque (16%) and French (12%); as for the reasons for reading, 52% stated that they read for pleasure, compared to 28% who read to learn and 20% who read out of obligation
