Resumen de No extremo ocidental: Privilégios, empreendimentos e investimentos sicilianos no Algarve

  Dans la premiere moitié du XYIeme siêcle quelques armateurs de Messine, assemblés dans une société commandite s' établissent à Lagos, en Algarve, connu par être un important centre de production et de transformation du thon. Là ils trouvent les mauvaises administrations douaniêres mais iIs obtiennent plusieurs privileges do roi D. Manuel. Cet article présente de forme abrégée l' expansion italienne dans le Méditerranée jusqu'au côtes du Portugal dormant à connaitre de nouvelles sources qui permettent cette présence depuis le début du XlV siêcle jusqu'au XVII siêcle. En dehors des nouvelles hypotheses d'interprétation, ce nouveau cadre permet aussi soulever des questions intéressantes.

  Na primeira metade do século XVI alguns armadores de Messina, reunidos numa sociedade comandita, estabelecem a sua actividade em Lagos, no Algarve, conhecida por ser um importante centro de produção e transformação do atum. Ali deparam-se com as más administrações alfandegárias, mas obtêm do monarca D. Manuel vários privilégios. Este artigo apresenta de forma breve a expansão italiana no Mediterrâneo até às costas de Portugal, dando a conhecer novas fontes que permitem situar esta presença desde os inícios do século XIV até ao século XVII. Para além de novas hipóteses interpretativas, este novo quadro permite também levantar questões de grande interesse.

  In the first half of the 16th Century some shipowners of Messina, gathered in a society of limited liability, established their activity in Lagos village, in the Algarve, known for being an important production and transformation centre of tuna fish. There they come across with bad customhouse administration, but obtained from the monarch D. Manuel some privileges. This article briefly presents the Italian expansion in the Mediterranean to the shores of Portugal, allowing the knowledge of new sources, which permit to situate this presence since the beginning of the 16th Century until the 17th Century. Beyond the new interpretative hypothesis, this new frame also allows to raise interesting issues.
