El acercamiento entre el patriarca y la antipatriarca representados por dos personajes de Pedro Páramo

    En este artículo profundizaremos en la relación entre dos de esos personajes: Pedro Páramo y Susana San Juan. Enfrentados, como están, ambos se conectan mediante una relación de oposición no disyuntiva, carácter que configura cualquier novela, como afirma Kristeva (1978): “la disyunción enmarca la novela (…). Pero la novela no es posible más que cuando la disyunción de los dos términos puede ser negada al tiempo que está allí, confirmada y aprobada” (p. 167). En consecuencia, ambos personajes conforman dos figuras clave: la del patriarca, reproducida por Pedro Páramo, y la de la antipatriarca, materializada en Susana San Juan, para quienes, simultáneamente, su existencia dependerá de la del otro.

    In this article we will deep into the relationship between two of those characters: Pedro Páramo and Susana San Juan. Confronted, as they are, both are connected through a non-disjunctive oppositional relationship, a character that configures any novel, as Kristeva (1978) affirms: “disjunction frames the novel (…). But the novel is only possible when the disjunction of the two terms can be denied while it is there, confirmed and approved” (p. 167). Consequently, both characters make up two key figures: that of the patriarch, reproduced by Pedro Páramo, and that of the antipatriarch, materialized in Susana San Juan, for whom, simultaneously, their existence will depend on that of the other.
