  El Sistema Penal Acusatorio aportó importantes cambios a la justicia penal Colombiana; los más significativos esta en el juicio, el cual es público y controversial; se abre con esto un gran espacio a todos los profesionales que deseen desempeñarse como peritos, pero a su vez, se exige mayor capacitación y una irrefutable habilidad expresiva, que les otorgue credibilidad frente a las partes e intervinientes dentro del proceso y lo respalde para dar fe de las teorías e instrumentos que emplee. Se consideran algunas maneras para lograr que la peritación tenga un carácter mas técnico y académico.
