    La evolución de la representación de la familia en Colombia durante el siglo XX se construye en un marco de transición demográfica que afecta no sólo el contexto socio político y económico, sino que también estimula el cambio de los discursos académicos los cuales rompen con los mitos y concepciones patriarcales occidentales, develando las relaciones de poder y género que están en el entramado de relaciones subjetivas, creencias y valores que la cultura y las instituciones construyen y reconstruyen permanentemente.

    The evolution of the representation of the family in Colombia during the 20th century is built within a framework of demographic transition that affects not only the socio-political and economic context, but also stimulates the change of academic discourses which break with the myths and Western patriarchal conceptions, revealing power and gender relations that are in the framework of subjective relationships, beliefs and values that culture and institutions permanently build and rebuild.
