    Durante la existencia del Estado de Santander, en la región se regularon las instituciones y relaciones jurídicas comerciales propias de la época, marcadas por el ideal liberal e individualista que aparece claro en el Código de comercio de 1863 en los tres libros sobre el comerciante, los contratos y obligaciones y la quiebra, que se comentan con fundamento en esta valiosa fuente de conocimiento jurídico del Siglo XIX.     During the existence of the State of Santander, the legal commercial institutions and relations of the time were regulated in the region, marked by the liberal and individualist ideal that appears clearly in the Commercial Code of 1863 in the three books on the merchant, the contracts and obligations and bankruptcy, which are discussed based on this valuable source of legal knowledge of the 19th century.
