  • Resumen
    • Twenty two ostracode species, belonging to eighteen genera, originating from the Rekhes Menuha and Biqat Qetura sections of the Zihor Formation, southern Israel, are recorded, eleven new species and subspecies are described. The Oertliella dextrospinata - (UC-7) Assemblage Zone of Late Turonian-Early Coniacian age was established. The combined occurrence of both marine and brackish water ostracodes point to a transitional shallow marine to lagoonal environment of deposition. The faunas exhibit affinities to those recorded from Turonian-Early Senonian strata of Southern Europe and Northern Africa.
