    Exclusion and social marginality are two problems which affected the Medieval world. Among the excluded were to be found the poor and the marginal population which constituted the periphery of Medieval society, and which took several forms. Xenophobic attitudes and hostility towards ethnic minorities, in particular as regards Jews, together with negative reactions provoked by the influx of black slaves, reflect behavioural attitudes of 15th century man.

    L' exclusion et la marginalité sociale constituent des problêmes qui affectent le monde médiéval. Parmi ceux qui sont exclus, on trouve les pauvres et les marginalisés qui integrent la périphérie de la société de l' époque et représentent plusieurs situations connues. La xénofobie et ses contours, l'hostilité envers les minorités éthniques, surtout envers les juifs et les réactions négatives envers les esclaves négres, sont reflet d' attitudes courantes du comportement de l'homme du XVème siècle.
