This article tries to answer an important question posed at its beginning, that is whether, in the case of Somalia, it is possible to affirm the rebirth of a “failed State”. The author considers it is still too early to draw any conclusion, despite some progress have been made indeed, as showed in the relevant country reports. However, still a lot has to be done, in particular as far as the satisfaction of local population’s fundamental needs and expectations is concerned. Somalia is still not able to manage itself and needs that all relevant international actors, the UN and the EU in particular, cooperate effectively for the future of the Somali population and to give dignity to a country martyred for too long.
