The result presented here is part of the project “identity and Cuban reality”: Socioculturalstudies of the impact of the socio-economic transformations in the central region of Cuba. It is done in response to the concern of the Anglo-Caribbean community of Baraguámunicipality to reserve its anglo-caribbean cultural values, inherent in the identity of“La Cinta”, its cultural legitimate representative in Cuba. The objective is to identifythe influence of general changes in the identity factors of “La Cinta” and its artisticexpression. The observation, the document analysis and the interview as a method forobtaining information, allowed: to establish the relationships between the identity factors-perception-artistic expression and to reveal the transformations in this, just perceivedby specialists and connoisseurs of the Anglo-Caribbean culture, with the intention ofalerting the community factors that intervene in the development and evolution of thecultural project, about the gradual loss of its identity and authenticity.
