Giacomo Lauro fue un joven aficionado a la música callejera que a mediados del año 1605 emprendió un largo viaje desde Roma hasta Madrid. En abril de 1606, mientras estaba en Pamplona, Giacomo sufrió una agresión. El pleito posterior, base documental del presente artículo, constituye una magnífica fuente informativa sobre los orígenes de un por entonces novedoso instrumento musical: la tiorba.

Giacomo Lauro was a young fan of street music who, in the middle of 1605, undertook a long journey from Rome to Madrid. In April 1606, while in Pamplona, Giacomo was attacked.
