    Parte de los recursos turísticos se conforman por bienes culturales que denominamos patrimonio, presentados como símbolos de la identidad nacional o depositarios de un valor universal, aunque esta denominación no sea resultado de un proceso social de legitimación. Hablar de patrimonio, por lo tanto, puede tener diferentes significados para cada persona: para unos, es un elemento representativo de una cultura con la que se identifican y, para otros, es un legado. Ambas concepciones posibilitan el uso del patrimonio como recurso turístico. El objetivo de este estudio es aportar conocimiento sobre el proceso por el cual la Manzana Jesuítica de la ciudad de Córdoba se constituye “patrimonial”, de manera que permita entender el fenómeno social comprendido en la noción de patrimonio, observándolo como un hecho cultural y social. Para ello, se analizaron los siguientes momentos o gestos: hallazgo, certificación de origen, declaración oficial, acceso al nuevo objeto patrimonial y trasmisión a las futuras generaciones. La Manzana Jesuítica es un patrimonio cultural que se ha ido conformando a través del interés de distintos grupos de personas, relacionadas emocionalmente con el bien, quienes han ido gestado el proceso de patrimonialización, logrando que la comunidad la mire y que el poder estatal la proteja. Ahora bien, al momento del acceso, el turismo y la cultura no pudieron acordar una gestión mancomunada que logre mostrar el patrimonio de manera satisfactoria. Luego de identificar y analizar la patrimonialización en función de las etapas del modelo de Davallon (2014), es posible afirmar que la Manzana Jesuítica –desde comienzos del siglo XX hasta la actualidad–ha transitado distintos recorridos para cada uno de sus edificios. Ha cambiado su valor simbólico a lo largo del tiempo, generando un mensaje de interés que permite revivir y transmitir lo sublime a través de las diferentes experiencias turísticas, resignificándose por cada visitante.

    Part of the touristic resources are made up of cultural properties which are described as symbols of the national identity or these ones may involve the meaning ofuniversal value, although the last labelwould not be the result of the social process of legitimization. So, when referring about heritage, every person can find a different representation of the conceptof this term. Ones may consider heritage as a representative element of the culture by which they feel themselves identified, while for others, it means the significance of legacy. Both conceptions may include the possibility to manage heritage as a touristic resource. The objective of this study is to bring knowledge about the process by which the Jesuit Block of the City of Córdoba is constituted “heritage site”, through which it is possible to describe this social phenomenon embedded in the concept of heritage as a cultural and social event. Therefore, some instances and acts were analyzed: finding of the property, certification of origin, official declaration, access to the new heritage property and the assertion of the transmission to future generations the knowledge of the heritage. The Jesuit Block depicts a cultural heritage that has been developed with the support of different groups of interest, emotionally involved with the property. By conceiving the process of Heritage Status of the Jesuit Block, now the community enhances the value of the cultural property. What is more, this heritage is preserved by the local authorities. However, tourism and culture could not deal with the finding of solutions in an integrated manner as regards access so as topromote the heritage in an effective way. Once the heritage status is identified and analyzed based on the model of Davallon, it can be assumed that The Jesuit Block, (including all its buildings) –from the beginning of XX century up to now -has undergone several experiences by changing its symbolic value through the time, and also by generating a message of great significance. These events allow every single visitor to relive and transmit a sublime vision through different touristic stages in a unique way and also to assign a new significance to these experiences.
