Additional Dinocysts and acritarchs from the Middle Member (Lower Kimmeridgian-Tithonian) of the Jhuran Formation, Kachchh, India

  • An additional eight species belonging to eight genera of dinocysts and six species belonging to three genera of acritarchs are reported from the Middle Member (Lower Kimmeridgian-Tithonian) of the Jhuran Formation of Kachchh, India. Four new species of dinocysts are proposed, they are Egmontodinium minor, Mendicodinium quadratum, Pareodinia angulata and Sentusidinium fibrosum. A new dinocyst Forma-A is also reported.

    This new list of dinocyts supports the earlier conclusion of Kumar (1986) that this assemblage is distinctive and shows a certain degree of provincialism.
