Resumen de Luz y sabor. Daylight Autonomy de Complex Fenestration Systems

Urtza Uriarte Otazua, Joan Lluis Zamora, Rufino Javier Hernández Minguillón

  • This work deals with daylighting for indoor quality atmospheres, considering building skins and daylight autonomy (DA). Two Spanish restaurants, Sal Café and Azurmendi, were selected to build virtual model by Rhinoceros program, and then to assess the DA along the year. In the virtual façade two façade system were considered; highly glazed façade; and small window combined by Complex Fenestration System (CFS). The CFS is a prismatic film. The Three-Phase Method of Radiance program was used to obtain the Daylight Autonomy of systems with CFS. DIVA, the Radiance program based program and plugin for Rhinoceros, was used to obtain simulation of DA without complex fenestration systems and to upload the DA results from Three-Phase Method. The results show that next to the façade highly glazed façade has more DA than small window combined by CFS. However, the small window combined by CFS has more DA than highly glazed façade along the space. The design of complex façade could provide better indoor light performance, considering an accurate balance between light level and light perception and taking into account outdoor views
