    Este artículo investiga la trayectoria de Francisco Julião, exiliado brasileño en México, y se sitúa en el periodo de 1973 a 1976, en donde realizó entrevistas a exsoldados del ejército zapatista. Junto a la estudiante chilena Angélica Rodríguez Madariaga, se realizaron alrededor de 200 entrevistas. Uno de los principales registros documentales de las entrevistas fue el dia-rio de campo elaborado por Rodríguez. A partir de este documento, junto con otras fuentes, se pretende comprender qué tan significativas fueron estas entrevistas en el escenario de principios de la década de 1970, durante el sexe-nio de Luis Echeverría. Y, sobre todo, ¿por qué lo hizo un exiliado brasileño?, ¿cuál es la relación entre Francisco Julião y el gobierno mexicano? Conclui-mos que Francisco Julião –líder campesino en Brasil– pasó a formar parte de la red política e intelectual mexicana en la década de 1970. En el artículo explicamos cómo llegó a este lugar.

    This article. investigates the trajectory of Francisco Julião, the Brazil-ian exile in Mexico, located in the period from 1973 to 1976 where he conducted interviews with former soldiers of the Zapatista army. Together with the Chil-ean student Angélica Rodríguez Madariaga, around 200 interviews were car-ried out. One of the main documentary records of the interviews was the field diary prepared by Rodríguez. From this document, along with other sources, it is intended to understand how significant these interviews were on the stage of the early 1970s during the six-year term of Luis Echeverría. And, above all: why did a Brazilian exile do it? What is the relationship between Francisco Julião and the Mexican government? We conclude that Francisco Julião –a peasant leader in Brazil– became part of the Mexican political and intellectual network in the 1970s. In the article we explain how he got to this place.
