    En el presente artículo, proponemos analizar la proyección de futuro en los escritos de Max Horkheimer, el ideal del intelectual como participante activo de la acción política y su noción de modernidad. Partimos de la premisa de que estos tres aspectos fueron cambiando conforme avanzó su vida, la situación política más general y su trayectoria profesional. Utilizaremos como fuentes fundamentalmente sus escritos sobre Teoría Crítica (1937), Historia y Psicología (1932) , Obreros y empleados en vísperas del Tercer Reich (1929) así como el trabajo posterior Crítica de la razón instrumental (1947).

    In this paper, we propose to analyze the projection of the future in the writings of Max Horkheimer, the ideal of the intellectual as an active participant in political action, and his notion of modernity. We start from the premise that these three aspects changed as his life progressed, along with the overall political situation and his professional trajectory. We will primarily use his writings Traditional and Critical Theory (1937), History and Psychology (1932), Workers and Employees on the Eve of the Third Reich (1929), as well as his later work, Critique of Instrumental Reason (1947).
