Il motu proprio Competentias quasdam decernere, del 11 febbraio 2022, ha modificato alcuni canoni del Codice di Diritto canonico e del Codice dei Canoni delle Chiese Orientali. Tra le nuove norme si trovano due articoli che riguardano la modifica delle pie volontà dei fedeli da parte dell’autorità ecclesiastica. Questo scritto presenta i cambiamenti principali della nuova legge, che vanno nella linea di attribuire maggiori competenze ai vescovi.

Motu proprio Competentias quasdam decernere, issued by the Pope on February the 11th 2022, modified some canons of the Code of Canon Law and of the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches. Among the new norms are two articles which concern the modification of two canons dealing with the possibility of changing the pious wishes of the faithful by the ecclesiastical authority. This paper presents the main changes of the new law, which go along the lines of attributing greater powers to the bishops.
