La investigación tiene como propósito analizar sobre el aprendizaje significativo en la enseñanza del inglés como lengua extranjera a nivel de educación media. Se desarrolló desde un enfoque cuantitativo con una metodología descriptiva y diseño no experimental, la cual se apoyó en el análisis documental–bibliográfico. Como resultado de la investigación se evidenció la importancia del uso de la tecnología y su contribución significativa al desarrollo lingüístico. Al concluir se puede manifestar que el inglés ha tomado mucha relevancia en el campo educativo colombiano, y el Estado realiza los planes correspondientes para su promoción a todos los niveles educativos tanto en la ciudad como en la zona rural.

The purpose of the research is to analyze the meaningful learning in the teaching of English as a foreign language at the high school level. It was developed from a quantitative approach with a descriptive methodology and non-experimental design, which was supported by the documentary-bibliographic analysis. As a result of the research, the importance of the use of technology and its significant contribution to linguistic development was evidenced. At the end it can be stated that English has become very important in the Colombian educational field, and the State carries out the corresponding plans for its promotion at all educational levels both in the city and in the rural area.
