The Maastrichtian-Paleocene dinoflagellate cysts obtained from 69 outcrop samples from the Germav Formation, S.E. Turkey have been studied. The dinoflagellate cysts have been determined in 46 species belonging to 31 genera. Most of these species are well compared with other records in the world. The nannoplanktonic and foraminiferal data also support the age and paleoenvironmental interpretation. The boundary between the Late Maastrichtian and Early Paleocene in southeastern Turkey is suggested to be significant for the stratigraphic distribution of the dinoflagellate cysts.
