Resumen de Conocimientos sobre educación sexual en madres adolescentes atendidas en el Hospital Nacional Arzobispo Loayza

  Objetivo: Determinar el nivel de conocimientos sobre educación sexual en gestantes adolescentes que acuden al Hospital Nacional Arzobispo Loayza.

  Material y Métodos: Estudio descriptivo, transversal, observacional y cuantitativo. Se encuestaron a 150 madres gestantes atendidas en el Hospital Nacional Arzobispo Loayza, entre Enero y Julio del 2012. Sólo se excluyeron a aquellas que no quisieron contestar la encuesta. Se aplicó un muestreo no probabilístico por juicio y los datos fueron procesados por el programa Excel.

  Resultados: El 82% de las madres adolescentes tenían nivel secundario. Sólo el 28% conocía su período fértil. El mayor porcentaje (37%) considera al método hormonal como el más seguro. 76% tenían compañeras embarazadas.

  Un 62% refirió que sabían de compañeras que se habían practicado un aborto. 27% refirió haber recibido educación sexual en el colegio. 47% necesitan mayor información sobre planificación familiar.

  Conclusión: la mayoría de madres adolescentes a pesar de tener nivel secundario, no tenían un adecuado conocimiento sobre educación sexual. No conocen ni diferencian su período fértil.

  Objective: Determine the level of knowledge about sexual education in pregnant teens who where attended in the Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital.

  Material and Methods: A descriptive, observational, and quantitative trial. It surveyed 150 pregnant women attended in the Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital, between January and July 2012. Excluded only those who refused to answer the survey. We applied a non-probability sampling by trial and data were processed by the program Excel.

  Results: 82% of teenage mothers had secondary level. Only 28% knew their fertile period. The highest percentage (37%) considered the hormonal method as the safest. 76% had pregnant partners. 62% said they knew of colleagues who had had an abortion. 27% reported having received sex education in school. 47% need more information on family planning.

  Conclusion: Most teenage mothers despite having secondary level, they had inadequate knowledge about sex education. No known or differentiate their fertile period.
