    En la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII, la danza teatral floreció en la Nueva España, y hacia el último cuarto del siglo se introdujo el ballet, que arraigó definitivamente. Con influencia internacional, su tradición se estableció en estrecho contacto con el Teatro Italiano de Cádiz y el Teatro de los Caños del Peral de Madrid, donde el ballet vivió un brillante periodo con destacados discípulos de Noverre.

    During the second half of the eighteenth century, theatrical dance flourished in New Spain, and in the last quarter of the century, ballet was introduced and was met an enthusiastic reception. With international influences, its tradition was established thanks to close contact with the Teatro Italiano of Cádiz and the Teatro de los Caños del Peral of Madrid, where ballet experienced a brilliant period under the guidance of distinguished Noverre disciples.
